- how the aggregate economy is measured and functions (including the multiplier model)
- unemployment and the role of fiscal policy
- inflation and the role of monetary policy
- the money market and the role the central bank plays
- the role of technological change in the economy and how it affects income inequality
- the role of globalisation (international trade, migration and investment) in the aggregate economy
