The Department of Economics hosted the second instalment of its Breaking the Wealth Gap series on the 11th of August, welcoming Nedbank Private Wealth to share practical insights into wealth-building and career pathways for young professionals. The session was open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and delivered value by bridging economic theory with real-world solutions, giving students an opportunity to explore how financial concepts can be applied to their own careers and financial futures.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Michael Meyer from the Department of Economics, the event featured Nesi Chetty, Manager at Nedbank Private Wealth, and Thys van Zyl from Business Development in Stockbroking. Following a warm welcome and introduction to the Nedbank team, the speakers delivered a focused 60-minute presentation covering wealth banking, structured lending, wealth management and stockbroking solutions tailored to young professionals.
